Beverly James Gibson departed this life on October 6, 2017. Her parents, Robert L. James, Sr. and Dagmar P. Dozier, and her stepfather Tommie Lee Dozier preceded her in death.  Born in Columbus, Ga., Beverly graduated from Carver High School and continued her education at El Paso Community College. After graduation, Beverly pursued a career in modeling for several years before she became a Corrections Officer with the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office in Columbus. She was very gifted with arts and crafts and made many beautiful candle holders for family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren when possible.

Beverly leaves to cherish her memory three children; Topaz (Pierre) Montague of Houston TX; Turquoise Gibson of Atlanta, GA; and Ian Gibson of Las Cruses, NM. Five grandchildren: Jelani, Saniya, Anisa, Journey, and Justice. Four brothers: Robert L. (Janella) James, Jr., of Ozark, AL; Carlton T. (Debra) Dozier of Charlotte, NC; Darrell Dozier and Paul (Irma) Dozier of El Paso, TX, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. While in Ozark, AL, Beverly attended Life Changers Christian Church in Enterprise as well as Joy Divine Apostolic Church in Ozark.

The family wishes to thank all of those in Alabama who assisted Beverly by providing rides to her doctor appointments, taking her grocery shopping, or just stopping by to spend time with her. A special thank you to Mr. Woody Hilbolt - Dale County Coroner, the staffs of Forest Haven, SpectraCare, Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory, and Trawick Funeral Homes for the devotion and care you showed for our love one.
